"We at the Minaret of Freedom Institute denounce the attacks on American and other civilians that occured on Sept. 11 and offer condolences to the victims and their families.  As American Muslims we find these attacks a triple tragedy:  As Americans our country is under attack; as Muslims attacks on noncombatants is anathema to us; and as the "usual suspects" in a situation of this type we must be concerned with new abridgements of civil liberties that may be directed first at us, but will eventually be to the detriment of all Americans." Imad-ad-Dean Ahmad, President
